It provides particularly good resistance to chloride induced stress corrosion and to local occurrences of corrosion such as pitting or crevice corrosion. This alloy is classified in the highest class CRC V (very strong, EN 1993-1-4) for components and fasteners. Fasteners in 1.4529 are therefore ideal for use in indoor swimming pools and traffic tunnels.
