Prevailing torque type hexagon nut, all metal, ISO 7042 Steel Hot dip galvanized 8 ISO metric

This all-metal prevailing torque hex lock nut features a built-in locking mechanism that helps prevent loosening caused by vibration or mechanical stress. Manufactured to DIN 6925 and ISO 7042 standards, it's made from property class 8 steel and designed for use with bolts and screws of property class 8.8 or lower. The metric thread is produced to 6H tolerance and tapped after hot-dip galvanizing, which means the thread itself is not zinc-coated. For proper fit, mating external threads must be manufactured to 6az tolerance prior to galvanizing—corrosion resistance is maintained through the zinc coating on the mating part.

Info
  • ISO metric hot dip galvanized nuts are manufactured with thread tolerance class 6H and mate with externally threaded parts (bolts, threaded rods) that are manufactured with thread tolerance class 6az before coating.
  • As the nut thread is tapped after galvanizing the threads are not coated. The corrosion resistance however is not influenced disadvantageously as the thread will be protected by the zinc layer of the mating part.ISO metric
