This self-locking hex nut, also known as a lock nut, features a non-metallic insert that helps prevent the nut from loosening due to vibration or mechanical stress. Made from stainless steel (A2) and manufactured to DIN 985 and ISO 10511 standards, this nut has metric threading and comes treated with our METALFORM coating—a dry, virtually invisible lubricant that all but eliminates thread galling in stainless steel while bringing the friction coefficient down to normal, more consistent levels. When pairing a bolt and nut, only the nut needs to be treated with METALFORM. After installation, the coating can be removed with a simple solvent, making it perfectly suitable for use in the food processing industry. Sold in bulk packaging.
