Prevailing torque type hexagon nut with non-metallic insert DIN 985 Stainless steel A2 METALFORM

This self-locking hex nut, also known as a lock nut, features a non-metallic insert that helps prevent loosening caused by vibration or mechanical stress. Manufactured to DIN 985 and ISO 10511 standards, it's made from stainless steel (A2) and comes with metric threading. The METALFORM surface coating is a dry, virtually invisible lubricant that all but eliminates thread galling in stainless steel while bringing the friction coefficient down to normal, more consistent levels. In a bolt-and-nut assembly, only the nut needs to be coated with METALFORM. After installation, the coating can be easily removed with a standard solvent, making it perfectly suitable for use in the food processing industry.

Info Specific features of Metalform:
  • The fixed, slightly visible dry film lubricant reduces the effect of galling.
  • It levels out the big scatter in coefficient of friction and reduces the average value.
  • In a bolt/nut assembly only one product (e.g. the nut) needs to be lubricated with Metalform.
  • The lubricant can easily be removed with a solvent after assembly, there’s no objection against application in the food industry.
