This nylon-insert lock nut features a built-in non-metallic locking element that helps prevent the nut from backing off due to vibration or mechanical stress. Manufactured to DIN 985 and ISO 10512 standards, it's made of steel with an electrolytic zinc plating, making it suitable for indoor use or applications with very mild environmental exposure. The nut has a metric fine thread. Please note: Class |8| nuts are rated according to DIN 267-4 and have a lower load capacity than Class 8 nuts rated to ISO 898-2. Mechanical overloading can strip the threads on either the nut or the bolt.
