This H130-ESN self-locking hex nut is made entirely of steel with an electro-galvanized finish, making it ideal for indoor use or applications with very mild exposure conditions. It features metric threading and is compatible with bolts rated up to property class 8.8. The self-locking action works through the elastic, axial displacement of the nut's slotted and crimped section: the nut spins freely until it reaches the slot, at which point further tightening creates a clamping force against the thread flank—independent of the applied torque. The locking slot is positioned at two-thirds of the nut's height. Built to withstand temperatures from -50°C to +300°C, the nut stands up to shock, vibration, and dynamic loads, and can be reused up to five times with no loss of performance.
