Fabory 3D CAD Portal for Fasteners

2D and 3D drawings for engineering and product design

Search, configure and download manufacturer-linked CAD models for Fabory fasteners. The portal helps engineers select the correct component earlier in the design process and move more efficiently from CAD model selection to product ordering.

Why Use 3D CAD Models for Fastener Selection?

Selecting the right fastener during the design stage can help reduce redesign, rework and prototyping costs while improving dimensional fit, assembly compatibility and bill of materials accuracy.

Powered by CADENAS PARTsolutions, the Fabory 3D Portal provides access to more than 75,000 configurable 2D and 3D fastener models in over 100 CAD formats. The models are linked to Fabory product information, helping engineers identify the corresponding product for purchasing.

Selecting an appropriate native or neutral output format can reduce manual conversion work, limit the risk of data-transfer errors and make it easier to integrate standard fasteners into widely used engineering platforms such as SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, Autodesk Inventor and Solid Edge.

What Can You Do in the 3D Portal?

Use the portal to find, configure and download the fastener data required for your engineering project.

Configure the Required Product Select supported product variants by dimensions, thread size, material, property class and surface treatment. Product information and Fabory article details are shown where available.
View Products in 2D or 3D Review the selected fastener using interactive 3D previews, dimensional views and available product parameters before downloading the model.
Download CAD Models and Drawings Download ready-to-use 2D drawings or 3D models in formats compatible with major engineering and product-design platforms.
Generate Product Datasheets Download product-specific datasheets containing available technical information and a 3D PDF representation of the selected component.
Continue from CAD Selection to Ordering Where a direct product link is available, continue from the selected CAD model to the corresponding Fabory webshop product information and ordering options.

Available File Formats

Available output options may vary by product and CAD system. Commonly supported native, neutral and drawing formats include:

STEP (.stp / .step) Widely supported neutral format for transferring 3D geometry between different CAD systems.
IGES (.igs / .iges) Neutral exchange format used for compatibility with established and legacy CAD platforms.
SolidWorks (.sldprt) Native part files for use in SolidWorks assemblies and engineering designs.
CATIA (.CATPart) Native part files for compatible versions of the CATIA engineering platform.
Creo Parametric (.prt) Native component files for PTC Creo Parametric and compatible engineering workflows.
Autodesk Inventor (.ipt) Native part files for insertion into Autodesk Inventor assemblies.
2D DXF and DWG Drawings Two-dimensional technical drawings for layouts, documentation and manufacturing workflows.
Product Datasheets with 3D PDF Product-specific datasheets containing relevant technical information and a 3D PDF representation.

Available Fastener Categories

The Fabory catalogue within PARTcommunity includes configurable models across a broad range of standard fastener and engineering-product families. Depending on the product, variants can be filtered by dimensions, thread size, material, property class and surface treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions

1

Is the Fabory 3D CAD Portal free to use?

Yes. Access to the Fabory 3D CAD Portal and the available CAD downloads is free, subject to the CADENAS fair-use policy. A separate, one-time registration is required before 2D drawings or 3D CAD models can be downloaded.

2

What CAD formats are supported?

The Fabory 3D CAD Portal supports more than 100 native, neutral and drawing formats. These include STEP, IGES, DWG, DXF, SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, CATIA, Solid Edge and other widely used CAD systems. Format availability may vary by product and software version. Product datasheets with a 3D PDF representation can also be generated where available.

3

Can I download CAD models without creating an account?

No. You can browse the Fabory catalogue and review available product information, but CADENAS requires a separate, one-time registration before CAD models and drawings can be downloaded. Registration and portal access are free.

4

Are the CAD models dimensionally accurate?

The models are generated from product and supplier data and are intended to support component selection, assembly design and dimensional planning. However, engineers should verify critical dimensions, tolerances, material details and the latest Fabory product specifications before approving a final design or releasing it for manufacture.

5

Can I request a 3D model for a product that is not yet available in the portal?

Contact your Fabory account manager or the Fabory technical support team if you cannot find the required product. Fabory can check whether a suitable model is already available, whether the product is planned for inclusion or whether an alternative model can support your design. The creation of a new or custom CAD model cannot be guaranteed.
